Ferrari recently unveiled the interior design of its upcoming model, the Ferrari Luce. The design was led by LoveFrom, the design firm founded by Jony Ive.

PRNDL released a blog article and a YouTube video giving a more detailed look into the design, both of which I think are well worth checking out.

My two favorite highlights cover one practical design feature and one emotional one.

The emotional design: The yellow color transferring from the e-ink car key to the glowing gear shift is very intriguing; it makes the car feel like a living object rather than just a piece of metal. This reminds me of my all-time favorite design: the Panasonic concept gel remote.

Left undisturbed, the device's belly slowly rises and falls, to mimic a tranquil breathing motion. But with a human hand approach, the sensor activates and it seems to come to life. It solidifies and becomes rigid, with a soft light from within.

Meanwhile, the resting bar at the bottom of the touch screen addresses an issue that most new cars in 2026 are ignoring—specifically, the difficulty of adjusting the infotainment screen while the car is moving. (Not that you should, but it’s inevitable when there are no physical buttons for simple tasks like adjusting the volume.)
